EirePlan - Workflow
Designed to fit into how
planning work is already done
Planning applications evolve over time. Reports are revised, drawings are updated, policies are rechecked, and requirements change.
Eireplan is designed to support this reality, without imposing a new methodology or replacing established practice.
Starting a project
Every planning project begins with assembling information: site details, client material, existing reports, and early assumptions.
With Eireplan, a project workspace is created to reflect the application from the outset. Key project variables are captured once and reused across documents, checks, and queries, reducing repetition without locking you into a rigid structure.
Eireplan does not dictate how you scope a project or define strategy. It simply provides a consistent foundation as the work develops.
Uploading and managing documents
Planning applications involve multiple documents produced by different parties: planning reports, drawings, technical assessments, and correspondence.
Eireplan allows teams to upload, version, and review documents within a single project space. Approved documents become the current source of truth, while earlier versions remain accessible for reference.
This mirrors existing folder-based workflows, but adds clarity around what is current, what has been reviewed, and what still requires attention.
Policy and precedent support
Identifying which planning policies apply to a specific site is a core part of report preparation, and one that is often repeated across projects.
Eireplan supports this process by grounding policy and precedent queries in the context of the active project. Responses reference Irish planning law, development plans, and relevant past decisions, with clear citations.
This does not replace interpretation or professional judgement. It reduces the time spent locating and cross-checking source material.
Validation before submission
Many delays in the planning process arise from avoidable omissions or inconsistencies identified at validation stage.
Before submission, Eireplan can be used to review the completeness of an application against project-specific requirements. Validation checklists adapt to application type, scale, and local authority expectations.
The final responsibility for submission remains with the planner. Eireplan provides a structured opportunity to identify issues earlier.
Continuing work through revisions
Planning applications rarely proceed in a straight line. Further information requests, revised drawings, and updated reports are part of normal practice.
Eireplan is designed to remain useful throughout this process. Project context, documents, and prior analysis persist as the application evolves, supporting consistency across revisions.
This continuity reduces the need to reconstruct context or repeat earlier work when timelines extend.
Designed to support professional practice
Eireplan respects the role of the planner as the decision-maker. It is intentionally conservative in what it automates and explicit about where human judgement remains essential.
The aim is not to change how planning is done, but to make it easier to do well.
