About - EirePlan
Why Eireplan exists
Planning applications in Ireland involve significant manual work: assembling documents, checking policy references, validating submission requirements, and coordinating across consultants and authorities.
Eireplan was built to bring structure to this process: not to automate planning decisions, but to reduce the administrative burden that consumes time better spent on design, strategy, and client work.
Why we built Eireplan
The idea for Eireplan came from direct experience preparing planning applications in Ireland.
We saw the same issues recurring: policies cited from older reports that no longer applied, validation checklists that varied by local authority, documents scattered across folders and email threads, and time lost to repetitive research that had been done before.
These aren't failures of competence. They're symptoms of a fragmented process. Planning professionals are expected to manage complexity that has grown faster than the tools available to support them.
We built Eireplan to address this gap: a workspace designed specifically for Irish planning work, grounded in how applications are actually prepared.
Our approach
Eireplan is built around a simple principle: software should support professional judgement, not replace it.
Planning decisions require nuance, local knowledge, and professional accountability. No tool should pretend otherwise.
We focus on the parts of planning work that are genuinely repetitive and error-prone: document organisation, policy referencing, validation checks, and precedent research. These are areas where consistent structure reduces mistakes and saves time.
What Eireplan deliberately does not do:
- ·Make planning decisions or recommendations on strategy
- ·Submit applications on behalf of users
- ·Generate planning reports without professional review
- ·Replace the need for qualified planning expertise
The team
Eireplan is developed by a team that combines planning experience with software engineering.
Our background includes direct involvement in Irish planning applications, from site assessments and policy research through to submission and decision tracking. We understand the operational realities of planning work, not just the theory.
We're building Eireplan because we believe planning professionals deserve tools that reflect the specificity of their work, rather than generic software adapted from other industries.

Our principles
The values that guide how we build and operate Eireplan.
Respect for professional judgement
Planning decisions belong to planners. Eireplan provides structure and information, the professional remains accountable.
Accuracy over speed
Correct policy references matter more than fast answers. We prioritise grounded, verifiable outputs.
Data confidentiality
Planning data is commercially sensitive. Projects are isolated by organisation, with no cross-client visibility.
Incremental improvement
We're not trying to disrupt planning. We're trying to make existing workflows more consistent and less error-prone.
Long-term trust
We're building for sustained professional use, not short-term adoption. Reliability and data responsibility come first.
Built for planning
Eireplan is designed specifically for Irish planning work, not adapted from generic project management or AI tools.
